    Advertising Rings 1885/86: "W. & T. Avery / Birmingham", the collection of four private issue covers with self-addressed cover to Avery with 1 d. pink with pale pink surround and manuscript "Trial" on reverse, together with a superb used example to London tied by "Birmingham" squared circle datestamp (July 21, 1886); unused envelopes 2 d. blue (17.12.85) with greenish blue ring and 2½ d. lake-red (17.12.85) with lake ring, both fresh and fine (envelopes printed by Waterlow). A delightful group.
