    Surcharged by the 'West Indian Press' 1878 (March 28): Provisional 1 d. on half 5 s. rose, perf. 15½ x 15, surcharge reading up, a used horizontal pair with 'blind' perforations between, left stamp showing 'Small D.' (Type 3c) and right hand stamp with curved serif to '1' (Type 3a), of good colour and fine appearance, cancelled by 'Barbados' cds (March 30) in black. Exceptionally rare.
