    1877: Cover from Callao to London endorsed 'via Panama' mailed with Great Britain 1874/80 6 d. grey pl. 15 in a horizontal strip of three tied by "C38" obliterators in black. Reverse with 'Callao' cds of despatch (Nov 28) and London arrival (Dec 31). Central file fold away from the adhesives, an unusual usage, contrary to regulations without the internal Peruvian postage being prepaid, another example of this avoidance being from the same correspondence (collection Dr. Paul Kornan, Sept 1994, lot 233). Rare.
