    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1859: 6 d. purple-brown on white paper, wmk. Star, imperforate, a used example of good colour, margins clear to large all round, tied to small piece by barred obliterator in black with "Paid / London" cds in red at left (March 7, 1859). A fine and scarce early usage.
