    1864/66: Mexico District Fifth period Eagle ½ r. grey and 4 r. green (105-1866), used on 19 June 1866 cover from Mexico City to Paris, tied by "FRANCO / MEXICO" cds (June 19) in black. Mailed via American Packet with '38' (cents) credit handstamp in black and reverse with "NEW-YORK / AM. PKT." cds (July 7). Struck on entry with octagonal "ET-UNIS SERV. AM / HAVRE" in red (July 21) and charged '24' décimes handstruck in black to pay equivalent to a triple rate. File fold above the adhesives but an extraordinary and very rare cover.
