    1865/72: 1 r. yellowish-ochre, a fine large margined example used on 1871 mourning cover to Paris tied by "QUITO / FRANCA" cds in red (April 29) paying the internal postage with GUAYAQUIL British P.O. cds (July 9) on reverse. Three line dated "PANAMA / TRANSIT" in black (May 20) and thence via London (June 12) where struck with framed "GB / 1F 90 c." accountancy marking in black. Charged with handstruck '12' décimes due marking upon arrival. One of the finest first issue covers from this correspondence (believed just 12 with various single frankings), originally found at the Granada Exhibition in 1992. Cert.
