1865: 1 a. brown, used on March 2 1866 Printed Matter entire letter from Calcutta to Paris paying the internal rate, endorsed "per Meinam", tied by Company oval cachet and by "CALCUTTA / INDIA UNPAID / 1" duplex in blue. The French Paquebot "Meinam" travelled via Pondichery, Galle, Suez, Alexandria (March 28), and on arrival in Marseille the entire was taxed by handstruck '15c.' charge marking in red.
