    Regno, usage of Sardinian adhesives 1861 (Nov 9): Double rate Entire letter from Grottammare to Roma, bearing Sardinia IV. emission 40 c. 'carminio lillaceo', a fresh and fine example with good to large margins, in a deep shade, tied by clear "GROTTAMMARE MARCHE" despatch cds (Sassone AP = 5 punti), reverse with Loreto transit and arrival (Nov 11) cds's. Paid until the Papal border, the residual journey was postage-free as the reveiver was a Papal institution, signed E. Diena with colour indication Sassone = 2'400 + 200.
