    Second War of Italian Independence 1859, incoming: Entire letter written in Grand-Bornand, Savoy and despatched from Thones, directed to a serviceman in the 2nd grenadiers regiment to Piemont in the Italian campaign, bearing Sardinia 1859 10 c. 'bruno violaceo', a fine and fresh adhesive with large even margins, well embossed, tied by indistinct "THONES 9 .. .." cds (Sassone CH = 6 punti). Reverse with Annecy transit, indistinct Sardinian ambulant and "R. POSTA MILe. SARDA (N. 1) 13 LUG 59" Fieldpost arrival cds's. An appealing and interesting entire written at about the time of the preliminary peace contract of Villafranca, franked in the military concessionary rate. Signed Calves Sassone = € 3'600 + 350.
