    French Shipmail 1876 (Nov. 26): Cover from Santiago de Cuba to Bordeaux, endorsed "par Colombie", bearing Siège 40 c. orange in mixed franking with Sage 10 c. green type I, both adhesives in fine and fresh horizontal pairs, each tied by octagonal Shipmail's "CUBA 26 NOV. 76" cds (Salles fig. 1364), a clear information strike alongside, reverse with "SANTIAGO-DE-CUBA / PAQ. FR. D N° 2 26 NOV. 76" despatch and Bordeaux arrival cds (Dec 20, 76). Minor cover filing folds just mentioned for accuracy, a most attractive franking to pay the 100 centime rate valuable after July 1871. Cert. E. Diena (1984).
