    1878 (June 27): Double rate Registered envelope from Viterbo to Roma, bearing 1866 Torino printing 60 c. lilac in mixed franking with 1877 (Aug) 10 c. blue, tied by '208' numeral obliterator 'a sbarre' with crisp VITERBO cds in black and boxed RACCOMANDATO handstamp alongside. Reverse with arrival cds of the next day. Roughly opened on reverse, still an interesting and attractive usage to pay twice the postage rate of 20 c. and 30 c. for the registration.
