    1 / 1
1864 (Feb 18): Entire letter from Seniga to Brescia, bearing 1863 DLR 15 c. sky-blue 'celeste chiaro', cancelled with handwritten 'postmark' saying "Seniga 18 Febbraio 64" (11 punti), reverse with Brescia arrival cds of the same day. A very rare way of cancellation, cert. A. Diena (1972).rnNote: After the opening of the P.O. in Senigna in 1860, stamps were first cancelled by manuscript until a datestamp came into use. When the P.O. was closed in 1863, this postmark was returned to the postal administration. When the office was re-opened in February 1864, stamps were again used with handwriting.
