    1872/73: Lettersheet from Langres to Laferté-sur-Amance, bearing 1872 Cérès 2 c. red-brown, a single adhesive and a block of four in combination with 15 c. bistre great ciphers, tied by clear Gros Chiffres '1947' lozenge, matching despatch cds (Dec 15, 1874) in black alongside. Reverse with arrival cds of the following day. An exceptional way to pay the 25 c. inland rate.
