    Syria Austrian Lloyd Agency in Aleppo 1856 (Oct 5): Entire letter from Glarus, Switzerland mailed via Trieste to Aleppo, Syria. Struck with blue despatch cds and endorsed at Trieste with "15/12" (Swiss charge 9 kr. + Austria 6 kr. = 15 kr + Lloyd rate of 12 kr.) in manuscript, struck on arrival with very good impression of oval framed "AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO / ALEPPO" in blue (Tranmer fig. 2).
