    RMSP 1861 (Aug 7): Cover from Caracas to Genova, Italy, franked by 1859/61 ½ r. orange, two examples and sheet marginal 1 r. deep blue, coarse impressions, with ample to large margins all round, cancelled by two strikes of circular "CORREOS / CARACAS" datestamps in blue (Aug 22). Carried on the RMSP "Seine" from St. Thomas with London transit cds on reverse (Sept 13) in red and struck there with "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy marking. Calais transit on front and three French datestamps on reverse, charged '20' décimes due on receipt. The earliest recorded usage of the 1 real coarse printing in a extraordinarily deep colour.
