1870 (Oct 17): Great Britain 1864/79 1 d. red pl. 138, two examples, used on thin paper envelope endorsed 'pr. Steamer Poitou' from Gibraltar to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil tied by two strikes of the "A26" obliterator with GIBRALTAR cds alongside (Oct 17). Reverse with 'Rio-De-Janeiro' arrival cds in blue (Nov 8) and manuscript '240' reis due to pay in red crayon.
