    1867/80: 9 d. straw, plate 4, wmk. Spray, used on 1871 single rate (under ½ ounce) cover to Mhow, India tied by "Oxford / 603" duplex (April 13) in black. Reverse with London transit in red, fair only 'Sea Post Office' (Type 1) in blue and carried on the P&O 'Baroda' to Bombay cds (May 14). An attractive single usage.rnrnNote: Addressed to Lady Malcolm, wife of Major General Sir George Malcolm (1818-1897) who had a distinguished Military career, fighting in the 1st Afghan War, 2nd Anglo-Sikh War, the Anglo-Persian War (1856-57), the Indian Mutiny where he was mentioned in despatches, he later commanded the 2nd Division in the Abyssinia Expedition in 1868.
