    Austrian Levant PO's in Constantinople 1794/1867: Lot 23 primarily prephilatelic covers incl. 1794 disinfected entire via Vienna to Erfurth, 1797/1801 two disinfected entires via Semlin to Hodimont nearby Verviers, Belgium, 1819 carantine entire via Semlin to Florence, 1835 overland entire via Semlin to Venice, 1836 double rate entire to Trieste, 1837 entire with special Semlin carantine handstamp 'NETTO DI FUORA ET DI DENTRO' (also cleaned on the inner side), sent to Genova, two additional entires from the Razetto correspondence to Genova, 1840 double rate entire to Ragusa with handstamp and wax seal of the Semlin carantine, 1853 double rate cover to Genova Sardinia struck with CONSTANTINOPLEL wreathed cds and postal treaty handstamps, two 1854/55 incoming entires from Odessa via Vienna to the Theologo merchants, an interesting pair avoiding the Black Sea during the Crimean War, 1857 incoming from Vienna, 1857/61 two entires to Genova and Brescia, respectively, both struck with "LETTERE ARRIVATE COL VAPORE DAL LEVANTE." handstamp in transit in Trieste, 1859 two incoming entires from CATTARO to the captain of the steamer 'Mercur' in Constantinople, 1859 two incoming entires from Vienna and Manchester, 1867 unpaid cover to Vienna showing 15 s. due and 5 s. zutaxe, 1869 cover front to Marseille bearing a mixed franking of 1864 Arms 15 s. brown and 1867 25 s. lilac, and 1872 cover to Livorno bearing 1867 pair 10 s. blue and 3 s. green.
