    First Printing Group 1865: 1 real orange-vermilion, a beautiful clear printing with large even margins all round, position 80 on the sheet, used on 1865 cover to Latacunga superbly tied by "Quito / Franca" datestamp in black (Jan 23). An extraordinarily early usage of the First Issue in the first month of usage (the second earliest recorded cover) exhibiting one of the defining characteristc shades of colour of the earliest impressions. Rare and delightful.
