    1890: Hamilton Banknote Co. Essay for the 5 c. value, hand-painted on thick card (66 x 87 mm.) in shades of black, grey and Chinese white; the central vignette placed within the frame. A fine Essay, largely in adopted format but for the circular dots around value being replaced by single lines in the issued stamp. Unique.
