Reverse with Constantinopoli and Szeged transit cds's as well as "ETAPPEN-POSTAMT No XXXI 15/7 79" Fieldpost arrival cds. Opening tear on reverse of envelope, but a rare usage of the fine printing to an unusual destination. Signed Ferchenbauer.rnProvenance: Felix Brunner sale, March 1945, lot 4251.rnNote: 10 soldi UPU rate from Plovdiv in Eastern Roumelia, after the Russo-Turkish War of 1877/78 and the peace treaty of Berlin, an autonomous province in the Ottoman Empire under a Christian ruler. Interestingly all mail from Eastern Roumelia had first to go to Constantinople, even if directed to the west.
