    International Postal Connections to Europe - Switzerland 1868 (March 4): Registered cover from Lausanne to Bacau, Moldavia, endorsed "Par Vienne", franked with Sitting Helvetia perforated 1862 5 rp. brown and 1867 30 rp. ultramarine as well as 50 rp. lilac (SBK 30+41+51), tied by "LAUSANNE 4 III 68 - 11" cds's in black, framed PD and CHARGE alongside. Reverse with a whole plethora of Swiss, German and Austrian transit datestamps as well as "BAKEU 14/3" arrival cds in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 721). On front, '9 / 4' kreuzer CM in red crayon for onward postage beyond Switzerland. Some negligible blunted perfs., but a most attractive cover, sensibly opened for display. Illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 427.rnNote: Postage was 20 rappen for a cover coming from the second Swiss rayon, 20 rappen registration fee, 30 rappen transit through Austria and 15 rappen for the Levant.
