    Largest regional expansion 1879 (July 15): Cover from Plovdiv to Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, then under Austrian occupation, franked with 1874 fine whiskers 10 s. blue, tied by crisp "FILIPOPOLI 15/7" cds in black (Tchilingirian fig. 868). Reverse with Constantinopoli, Szeged and Brood transit cds's and "ETAPPEN-POSTAMT No XXXI 23/7 79" Fieldpost arrival cds. Opening tear on reverse of envelope, but a rare usage of the fine printing to an unusual destination, illustrated in 'Die österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 305. Interestingly all mail from Eastern Roumelia had first to go to Constantinople, even if directed to the west.
