    Posta Europea & Lloyd mail combination 1865 (April 10): Fully paid cover from Cairo to Vienna, franked with 1864 Arms 15 s. brown, perf. 9½, two fresh and well embossed single examples, tied by light "ALEXANDRIEN 11/4" cds in black (Tranmer fig. 5). Initial despatch "POSTA EUROPEA / CAIRO / 10 APRILE 65" datestamp alongside in blue and reverse with Vienna arrival cds (9-11 Fr. WIEN 21 IV). A rare combination cover. Illustrated in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 300. Cert. Eichele (2010).rnNote: A fully paid cover with 1 piaster paid in cash for the Posta Europea from Cairo to Alexandria, a late service of the company which was taken over by the Egyptian postal administration in 1865. The second part of the journey paid in Alexandria with 15 kr. up to Trieste and 15 kr. within Austria.
