    Provisional Surcharge 1883 (Sept 4): Surcharged "NEVIS ½ d." in black on vertically bisected 1 d. lilac-mauve, two single examples, a pair and a block of four, all with surcharge reading up, used on 1884 cover to Leytonstone, London tied by five strikes of the "A09" obliterator in black. NEVIS despatch cds below (Feb 9) and reverse with London arrival cds (Feb 27) in red. A superb and rare cover. Cert. RPSL (1961).rnProvenance: Collection Major T.
