    1932: Centenary Issue, a glorious hand-painted Essay for the proposed 1 s. value, with central vignette showing King William IV and George V, dated at base 1832-1932, frame painted in shades of green and deep green (Duty Plates and POSTAGE & REVENUE) central vignette in shades of violet and purple, with lettering picked out in Chinese white; in sunken card handstamped "DE LA RUE & Co. LTD. / 110 BUNHILL ROW, E.C. / LONDON" in blue. Manuscript '23.5.32' at top right and 'Jamaica 7343' file number at base. Unique and absolutely beautiful - somewhat astonishingly, the contract went to Waterlow.rnProvenance: RL, Bermuda, 15 Feb 1979, lot 424.
