    Recess by De La Rue 1875/81: 1 d. grey-blue (3) and 1 s. dull mauve in a horizontal pair, perf. 14, used on 1880 cover to Gladbach, Germany tied by bootheel obliterator with 'Barbados' bootheel duplexes (Nov 1). Reverse with top flap missing but with London transit (Nov 29) in red and Gladbach arrival of the following day. Faults to envelope but a scarce and attractive cover.
