    1882: 1 d. rose used on 1888 combination cover from the New Republic to Pietermaritzburg, franked on despatch with New Republic 1887 2 d. violet on blue granite paper (Gi 73) tied by VRYHEID oval datestamp in violet (June 16) with Natal 1 d. cancelled in transit by 'Dundee' cds (June 19) in black. Reverse with 'Helpmaaker' transit (June 20) and faint 'GPO / Natal' cds of receipt. Some stiffening of the weak paper of the envelope but a very rare combination usage.
