    1879: The ubiquitous ¼ real black on buff postal stationery card, the reply half, used locally within Guatemala City cancelled by octagonal "Correos / Guatemala" datestamp in violet (Dec 13, 1879). Whilst amongst the most common of all unused postal stationery cards (the stock was purchased for use as advertising cards by Errington & Martin, stamp dealers in London), the card in used condition can be considered a rarity.
