New Guinea, Stamps of Australia overprinted: Registered OHMS Cover from Rabaul to a Belgian serviceman in France bearing fifth setting Kangaroo 6 d. ultramarine, tied by RABAUL (28 OC 18) cds with provisional red&black on white NSW registration label with manuscript Rabaul and Treasury cachet alongside. The cover arrived in Europe at the end of WWI when German troops had already left Belgium. It was first directed to a unit of the Belgian army in Calais, however the addressee had returned to Belgium and the item was therefore forwarded to the 'Bureau Central Militaire' BCM in Anvers and was finally censored in Bruxelles, the reverse shows transit cds's of Sydney and Paris, arrival cds (19 II 19) of the Belgian military postal services.
