    1854: Embossed 6 d. violet, a fine example with good margins all round for this stamp with 2 d. blue, perf. 14 used on 1856 cover (at under ¼ ounce rate) to Switzerland, tied by London '19' numeral obliterators and by Calais entry marking in black. Oval framed PD' below in red and reverse with 'Horsleydown' straight line, London cds (Oct 17) and poor Basel arrival in black. A scarce and most attractive cover Gi = £ 1'900.
