Lot# 1635 - Auction 244-249

  • Lot# : 1635 Great Britain

1841: 1 d. red-brown on lightly blued paper, Plate 80, lettered MA-ML/NA-NL, a used block of twenty-four and OA-OL/RA-RL in a used block of forty-eight forming a complete block of seventy-two, originally used on piece of brown parcel paper which has now been removed, each stamp cancelled by '101' numeral obliterator of Ixworth. Various faults including a a few small tears and creases but without doubt the largest used multiple of the issue: this multiple would have paid a rate of 36 ounces (2lb. 4oz).
