1852 (Dec 18): Letter sheet from Verona to Mantova, franked with extremely rare 1852 15 c. red type IIIa plate 4 on distinct striped paper ('carta vergata verticalemente'), an example with fresh colour and fair to large margins all round, tied by crisp ornamental "VERONA 18/12" cds, reverse with "MANTOVA / 18-12 / 52" arrival cds and distribution handstamp.
