    1856 (Aug 23): Cover endorsed 'On H. M. Service' addressed to the Postmaster at Cape Town struck with superb oval PORT-BEAUFORT datestamp in black with oval arrival on reverse of CAPE TOWN in red (Aug 25). Docketed at right "Postmaster, Port Beaufort, Acknowledging receipt of Postage Stamps". A fine and appealing cover that opens well for Exhibit display.
