    Lithographed by Thomas Ham 1850 (May): Half-Length 2 d. red-lilac, Fourth State, Sixth printing, positions 12, used with 1850 2 d. grey-lilac, Third printing, position 6 and top marginal horizontal pair of 3 d. bright blue, First printing, positions 2-3, all tied to 1850 cover to Launceston, Tasmania by "4" Butterfly handstamps of Broken River in black. The addressee's name re-written and reverse with 'Broken River / Crown / Port Phillip' despatch (Sept 25), Melbourne transit (Sept 26) and Launceston arrival cds (Oct 10) in black. Rated '8' (pence) for double the Ship Letter rate, the letter mentions "I send you enclosed the returns for August....".
