    Ballon Monté No. 54 1871: 'Gazette des Absents' No. 22 written to Lyon, franked by 1870 Siège 20 c. blue, tied by "PARIS (SC) 3 JANV. 71" despatch cds in red, reverse with TPO Bordeaux - Toulouse (Jan 7) and arrival cds (Jan 9). This item was flown from besieged Paris on the 54th Ballon 'Newton'. Attractive red cancellation of the Service central, cert. Roumet (2015) Yvert = € 1'000+.
