    1857 (Nov 1): Cover and contents written from "Camp Kearn Ghant" during the Indian Mutiny period, being a letter of condolence written to Lord Stanley in Calcutta, endorsed "Private" at top and signed "Dalhousie" at lower left. Carried free of charges as Lord Dalhousie was Governor General of India (1848-1856). Rare.
