    Prussia 1864: 4 d. blue, single example used with a block of four, margins large to touched, on 1865 cover from Cradock to Berlin, Prussia endorsed 'Via England' tied by CGH triangular obliterators in black. Reverse with oval CRADOCK datestamp (June 19) in red, front with with CAPE TOWN / CAPE COLONY cds in black (June 19), oval 'PD' in red and London transit cds (Aug 17) in red and manuscript credit '1/4d.' docketing in red crayon. Reverse with Berlin arrival (Aug 19) cds. Flap missing but a fine example of the 1/8d. single rate to Prussia (4d. internal + 1s. to UK + 4 d. UK-Prussia). A spectacular and extremely rare cover.rnrnNote: We have not recorded another block of four of the De La Rue 4d. value on a cover to a foreign destination.
