    1858: 6 d. pale rose-lilac, two single examples, one very fine the other imperceptibly shaved on one margin, used on 1860 double rate cover endorsed 'per R.M.S. Norman' to Romsey, Hampshire, tied by CGH triangular handstamps in black. Reverse with 'Cape Town / Cape of Good Hope' despatch datestamp (Feb 21) in red. Obverse with PAID / DEVONPORT / CAPE PACKET datestamp (April 1) and London cds of the following day. Romsey arrival (April 2) in black on reverse. Manuscript crayon '10' (pence) credit in red also on front of a fine and scarce cover.
