    1870/71: Siège 40 c. orange, an example with good perforation and fresh colour, tied by 'AS.NA.' lozenge to small envelope, sent to Alençon showing on backflap embossed 'ASSEMBLÉE NATIONALE', on front "VERSAILLES ASSEMBLÉE NATle 8 NOV 73" cds, on reverse Versailles and Paris transit as well as Alençon arrival cds's (Nov 9). Opened up on three sides for better display, a little bit tatty at the edges, but a scarce usage. Maury = € 1'650/Yvert = € 1'000.
