    Cartagena-Magdalena River-Santa Fé de Bogotá Route 1788 (March 26): Entire letter from Cartagena to Quito via Popayan, distance of 463 leagues, 2'580 km., struck with fine contracted CARTAGN handstamp in red with upright lettering (Tizon 2 = RR) and straight line FRANCA also in red below (Tizon 5 = RR) at left. Manuscript rated "5" reales in ink for a letter weighing up to ¾ ounce.
