    1872 (Feb 9): Entire letter from Bahia to Figueira, Portugal franked by 1850 60 r. black for internal postage, tied by barred BAHIA handstamp with 'Bahia' datestamp adjacent, both in black. Carried on French Steamer 'Amazone' and struck on reverse with p. TRANSATLANTICO datestamp in violet (Feb 24) and charged '150' (reis) due upon receipt.
