    1856: Oscar 8 sk. lake-red, a horizontal pair used on single weight cover from Bergen to Hamburg, some staining between the perfs. at top, tied by manuscript cross cancellations with reverse showing Danish P.O. in Hamburg arrival cds (20/3). The cancellation is typical of the Sub-Postmaster Thomas Broch who held the Office between 1857-59 on the Nordstjernen. Despite the staining, a rare cover.rnrnProvenance: Ex collection Bernt J.
