    Mail from Belgium to Greece 1874: Cover from Antwerp to Syros, Greece sent unpaid and endorsed 'voie d'Allemagne par Trieste', struck with 'Anvers' cds (Dec 10) and framed NON AFFRANCHI on despatch in black. Franked on arrival in Syros with 1872/75 three margined 20 l. deep blue and horizontal pair of 40 l. bistre on blued paper tied by dotted '67' numeral handstamps. Reverse with 'Verviers / Coeln' TPO, Triest oval transit (Dec 13) and Syra cds (Dec 11, julian). A remarkable cover travelling on an unusual route - the obvious and much quicker transit point would have been Brindisi at this date. Rare. Illustrated in 'Les Tarifs Helléniques' on page 53.
