    1853: 20 c. blue, Type I, a fine horizontal strip of five with huge margins all round, used on small envelope carried at double rate to Alexandria, Egypt tied by 45 petit chiffres with Alencon despatch datestamp (Dec 24) below. Framed PD in red and part arrival on reverse. Flap missing but an attractive cover addressed to care of Messrs. Briggs & Co., Forwarding Agents.
