Ottoman 'T' marking on front and taxed on arrival in Constantinople with Turkey 1884 1 pi. blue (Mi. 84) tied by blue 'Constantinople / Arrivee' datestamp (May 12, gregorian). A fresh and fine cover.

    Note: Turkish-Bulgarian War. Differences regarding the Topkhane Convention of April 5, 1886 led to Ottoman Turkey refusing to accept mail from the the former South Bulgaria as valid, and for several years such mail was taxed on arrival.
