    1608/09: Venetian "AQ" letter-sheets with the Lion of St. Mark emblem between, the World's First Postal Stationery (pre-dating the 'Cavallino's and the Mulready by over two hundred years), small group of five items with a mint example and four used-all in the first two years of issue, one being dated February 1608. The "AQ" standing for "Acque" was printed at the top of each sheet along with the 1608 statute under which the system operated, with a further surcharge of 4 soldi for posting each letter. This system remained in operation until 1797 and early first year usages can be considered as rarities.

Nearly all the mail sent on this flight bears an Athens (Aug 2) cds, this cover presumably due to the destination and the Express endorsement was bagged and sent on, with arrrival (Aug 5) on reverse.     1926/28: Aero Espresso Italiana collection on Exhibit leaves, the superbly written up collection showing the link between Italy and Istanbul via Athens, with Aug 1, 1926 advert card used, First Flight (Aug  8) cover from Brindisi to Constantinople and return flight (Aug 15), further early flights to Turkey with one showing Airmail 1 lire 20 c. brown, covers from the Greek leg with 1926 Airmail usages (incl. a mint set and 1933 set used) and Metelino-Cosp flight covers (2, plus a return flight), 1930 link to Imperial Airways with reg'd cover ex New Zealand, A.E.I. labels, Airmail label sheet, and original 1926 Booklet for the new service, Winter time-table for 1933/34 etc..
