Reverse with PISA transit and indistinct arrival cds's. An interesting advertisement letter sold at reduced postage, very rare and sought after. Certs. A. DEC. 1930 on cover with embossed seal of 'MINISTERO AERONAUTICA", signed by General Balbo and various crew members, postmarked "RIO DE JANEIRO 22.1.1931" on arrival.     John 'Paddy' Saul's visit at 'Congresso Internazionale degli 'Aviatori Transoceanici' in Rome 1932 (May 22 -June 1): Album with 40 photos and documents relating to the congress, incl. press-photos, invitation cards and envelopes with one taken 'on the occasion of a reception of Italo Balbo', personal invitation of ' Capo del Governo', reception by the 'COMMUNE  DI VENEZIA' (June 1)and signed letter written by the Transatlantic flyer Jim Mollison to Paddy Saul: ".... I only wish I were going with you to the Transatlantic Conference. It promises to be a good show." as well as set of 30 signed portrait cards of the Italian 'Atlantic' flyers. An unique occasion, all from John 'Paddy' Saul's private archive.

    1763/1962: Comprehensive collection in seven volumes, which commences with some sea-freight manifests, a 1764 letter from GENUA to CADIZ and a range of French occupation here: P104P TURIN, 110 CHIAVARI, 112 FLORENCE, 114 SIENNE in red, 116 ROME and 117 SPOLETO as well as some other Département Conquis letters from the low countries. Later items include a 1837 desinfected letter from Tunis with the D'OLTRE MARE LIVORNO and LAZARETTO SAN ROCCO DI LIVORNO. The stamps offer a good range of Papal States, including four franked entires, Modena a fine letter franked 1852 40c. blues with generous margins to Austria.  Sardinia 1855/1863 issue in quantity with many different shades including a letter from ANNECY to TURIN. There is a good range of postal history throughout this collection with much interest contained within. Later issues include 1922 Triest Philatelic Congress, signed Diena and certificate Hunziker and further set signed in mauscript, 1931 Brazil flight used, Zeppelin Flights Airmail issues including two flown entires. There are also some later flights and some areas including a small number of entires.

    1825/2000: Cover collection consisting of over one-hundred entires, with a number of early items, the earliest from 1825 being an exchange list of the various European currencies being offered by the Genovese Bankers Fiers and Co to an Austrian Client, a letter from Florence to Paris dated April 1853, an insured letter franked with sixteen copies 1L 1901 design as multiple franking, a batch of tickets to the National Lottery in 1906, various censor items and diverse postcards. In addition there is a small stamp collection beginning with Italian States, and including Vatican.

    1862/1970: Principally unused collection in three well filled albums with a good range beginning with classic semi-classic, where the quality needs to be inspected carefully. One example may be the 1889 45 c. grey unused which is present with large part og. which shows traces of tropicalisation. The 1901 40 c. brown and 50 c. lilac are also included with slightly less browning and original gum. The collection continues with many good issues, but often with gum defects. Careful inspection will yield some better quality item, but particularly the earlier issues are effectively without gum.
