    1897 (Nov 20): Registered Cover from St. Helena to Montreal, Canada bearing 1864-80 2 d. yellow in combination with 1884-94 2½ d. ultramarine and 3 d. deep mauve, three fine and fresh adhesives, tied by bold grill obliterator, "ST. HELENA NO 20 97" despatch cds in black alongside. Obverse shows clear strikes of oval "REGISTERED / ST. HELENA" and "REGISTERED LONDON 14 DE 97" datestamps. Reverse with four different Montreal cds's (Dec 24) as the receiver was not found immedeately. An appealing and interesting cover, a rarely seen connection.

    1903 (June 9): Cover from St. Helena to Salisbury, endorsed "Per SS Goorka",  bearing 1884-94 ½ d. green in a horizontal pair, a fine and fresh multiple, tied by light "ST. HELENA" despatch cds in black. Reverse with arrival cds (July 16, 1903). Interesting way to pay the 1 penny rate to the UK, opinion Holcombe (1995).
