Probably from a clandestine perf. sheet, nevertheless a magnificent pair - the sole recorded in private hands as the adjoining pair (positions 45/50) resides in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.     Double Heads 1910/13: Prepared for use but unissued, £ 1 scarlet & reddish-mauve, perf. 14, an unused block of four, of perfect centering and immaculate vibrant distinct colour (in the colour of the issued 10 d. value) and superb large part og. with the lower pair unmounted og. Just two blocks of four were recorded by Richard Ashton (Gawaine Baillie sale, lot 638) with just the two sheets of fifty of this error printed.
